Region of Waterloo Public Health is no longer reporting the vaccination status of local COVID-19 patients who are hospitalized.

The change took effect last week on Nov. 4 on the online summary dashboard.

The 'vaccine impact' page previously outlined a breakdown of regional COVID-19 hospitalizations by vaccination status.

Public health posted a notice to the page, stating the data will no longer be published because of a number of variables.

An e-mail statement said, " In monitoring the health impacts of COVID-19, the limited data due to reduced PCR testing and the increased spectrum of immunity levels (based on previous COVID-19 infection combined with a variable number of COVID-19 doses) reduce our ability to provide representative analyses at the local level."

Public health is now only sharing provincial data on the page as a spokesperson said the larger sample size provides a more accurate representation of population trends.
