Several road closures scheduled for Remembrance Day ceremonies

The Galt and Preston legion's are having parades in addition to its ceremonies

Remembrance Day services will take place at all three cenotaphs on Saturday.

The City of Cambridge is warning motorists of temporary road closures scheduled for Nov. 11 to accommodate Remembrance Day parades.

The Galt Legion parade begins at 9:45 a.m. and travels down Water Street South to the Main Street bridge before continuing to the cenotaph.

As a result, Veteran’s Way from Ainslie Street to Concession Street, Walnut Street from Water Street to Ainslie Street and Ainslie to Wellington Street, along with North Square and South Square from George Street to Grand Avenue will be closed from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

On street parking is also prohibited along North Square and South Square from George Street to Grand Avenue and Walnut Street from Water Street to Ainslie from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Preston Legion parade starts at 10:30 a.m. on Margaret Street and is scheduled to travel down Westminster Drive, King Street and Argyle Street to the cenotaph.

Both parades will be escorted by the Waterloo Regional Police Service.

In Hespeler, the legion's ceremony takes place at Queen Street East and Tannery Street at 10:30 a.m but no impact to local traffic is anticipated.
