The Waterloo Regional Police Service is gearing up for its annual Stuff a Cruiser campaign, which is set to take place this weekend at four Walmart stores across Waterloo Region.

The Stuff a Cruiser event is a highly successful partnership initiative between the Waterloo Regional Police Service and the Knights of Columbus’ New Toys for Needy Kids campaign.

This is the 25th year for the Knights of Columbus’ campaign. Since beginning, a total of $5 million worth of toys has been raised and distributed to children throughout Waterloo Region over the holiday season.

This is the 12th year the Waterloo Regional Police Service has taken part in the campaign. To date, members have collected a total of 68,643 toys and $87,309.

“The holiday season is a time for all of us to come together and experience the gift of giving,” says Bryan Larkin, Chief of Police for the Waterloo Regional Police Service. “There really is no better gift than that of a child’s smile on Christmas morning. That’s a piece of holiday magic we don’t want to see anyone miss out on.”

On Dec. 4 and 5, 2021, members from the Waterloo Regional Police Service and the Waterloo Regional Police Auxiliary Unit will visit four Walmart locations across Waterloo Region and encourage community members to donate a new toy and place it inside a police cruiser.

Donated toys should be new and unwrapped.

Donations will be distributed through community agencies and given to children in need throughout the Region.

Donations are being accepted at the below Walmart locations.

Dec. 4, 2021, and Dec. 5, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

  • Cambridge Walmart - 22 Pinebush Road, Cambridge
  • Sunrise Walmart - 1400 Ottawa Street South, Kitchener
  • The Boardwalk Walmart - 100 The Boardwalk, Kitchener
  • St. Jacobs Walmart - 335 Farmers Market Road, Waterloo

Donations can also be made at any Waterloo Regional Police Service division.
