Two face trafficking, weapons charges after search warrant

Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Direct-Action Response Team (DART) has charged two Cambridge residents with drug trafficking offences.

On April 20, 2023, members of the Direct-Action Response Team (DART) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) completed a search warrant at a residence in the Greenway-Chaplin area of Cambridge.

Through the investigation, investigators seized suspected crack cocaine, methamphetamine, prescription pills, Canadian and American currency, and replica firearms. Two motor vehicles were also seized for 45 days.

A 49-year-old male and a 52-year-old female, both from Cambridge, were arrested and jointly charged with:

  • possession for the purpose of trafficking (three counts)
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The male is also facing two additional charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of operation while prohibited.

The accused parties were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
