Arrests made in Cambridge armed robbery investigation

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested three individuals after completing search warrants in connection to ongoing armed robbery investigations.

On April 19, 2023, WRPS’ Robbery Team, with the assistance of members from the Emergency Response Team, Break, Enter and Vehicle Theft Team, Organized Financial Crime Team, Direct Action Response Team, and Central Division, completed four Criminal Code search warrants at three locations throughout Waterloo Region. 

Evidence relating to the offences under investigation was located and seized at the three locations, including a replica firearm. Three stolen vehicles were also recovered.

An 18-year-old male, a 19-year-old male, and a male youth, all from Kitchener, were arrested, and are facing numerous criminal charges, including: 

  • robbery with a weapon
  • robbery
  • break, enter and commit
  • disguise with intent
  • use stolen credit card
  • theft of motor vehicle
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • break and enter with intent

The accused parties were held in police custody for a bail hearing. 

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are anticipated.
