A 33-year-old Cambridge male was charged with impaired driving in Guelph on Friday, following a two-vehicle collision.

The incident happened at about 5 p.m. in the area of Paisley Road and Alma Street North. No physical injuries were reported.

While speaking with one of the drivers, a news release reports officers detected an odour of alcohol on his breath and observed signs of impairment. The driver then registered a “fail” on a roadside breath/alcohol screening device and was taken to the station for more testing, which “confirmed” he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.

The accused person’s driver's licence was automatically suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded for a week.
