Cambridge man arrested in child porn investigation

Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Cybercrime - Internet Child Exploitation Unit have arrested a suspect after an investigation that began in December 2021. 

Police commenced an investigation into child pornography after receiving a complaint from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre regarding a person possessing and exchanging child pornography in September 2021.

A search warrant was completed on January 27, 2022, at a residence in Cambridge.  

On February 10, 2022, as a result of the search warrant, police arrested a 24-year-old Cambridge male. The accused was charged with two counts of Possession of Child Pornography and Make Child Pornography Available.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is a member of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet. This project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
