Cambridge man arrested in connection with Kitchener break-in

Police say the suspect was found in the backyard and arrested after a brief struggle

Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges after responding to a residential break-and-enter in Kitchener. 

On May 2, 2023, at approximately 12:10 a.m., a homeowner reported an in-progress break-in at their residence in the area of Robert Ferrie Drive and South Creek Drive. 

Upon arrival, officers located a male in the backyard of the residence, and, after a brief struggle, placed him under arrest. 

As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old Cambridge male was charged with:

  • break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence
  • resist arrest
  • trespass/prowl near dwelling house
  • assault a peace officer

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
