On Monday, police identified a man seen pumping gas into a stolen SUV on surveillance video in June and arrested him.

Police said the Cambridge man attended a gas station on Speedvale Avenue West in Guelph driving a stolen Kia SUV on June 2.

They allege he pumped more than $49 in gas and attempted to pay using several prepaid credit cards, but was only able to cover $7.28 of the cost.

The man told the attendant he would get another credit card from the vehicle but instead sped away without paying the remaining amount.

Guelph Police charged the 37-year-old Cambridge man with possessing stolen property over $5,000, theft under $5,000, occupying a stolen motor vehicle and driving while suspended.

He appeared in bail court Tuesday.
