Cambridge man charged with impaired driving following crash

Waterloo Regional Police have laid impaired driving charges after responding to a single motor vehicle collision in Cambridge.  

On June 23, 2023, at approximately 1:30 p.m., emergency services responded to a report of a collision in the area of Green Vista Drive and Whittaker Crescent.  

The driver of a white Subaru struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle.  

Through investigation, police learned that prior to the collision, the vehicle had been driving at a high rate of speed and drove through a stop sign.

No physical injuries were sustained by the driver.

The driver, a 44-year-old Cambridge male, was arrested and charged with the following offences:  

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs 
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 
  • Dangerous operation

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on July 18, 2023.
