Cambridge woman arrested for impaired after she drove into ditch

A 45-year-old Cambridge woman is facing several charges, including impaired driving, after her vehicle went into the ditch on a rural road in Oxford County on Sunday evening.

On Jan. 28, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Oxford OPP received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Oxford Road 14, in Norwich Township.

After speaking to the driver, police observed signs of impairment and made an arrest.

Further testing at the detachment led to other charges for the female driver. They are:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Fail to Comply with Demand
  • Careless Driving
  • Fail to Surrender Insurance Card
  • Fail to Surrender Licence
  • Operate a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid Permit

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Woodstock on March 5, 2024.

The OPP remind motorists that no amount of alcohol or drug is acceptable to consume and drive. Report impaired drivers.
