Cambridge woman charged with attempted murder

The victim and the accused are known to each other, no concern for public safety

Waterloo Regional Police have charged a 26-year-old Cambridge female with Attempt Murder in connection to an incident that occurred on June 25, 2021. 

At approximately 1:30 p.m., police responded to a residence in the area of Peachtree Crescent and Johanna Drive in Cambridge after receiving a report of a stabbing incident. 

The victim, a 63-year-old female, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries as a result of multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to an out-of-region hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services. 

The suspect had fled the residence but was located by police shortly after and was arrested. 

The victim and the accused are known to each other, and there is no concern for public safety.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing scheduled for June 26, 2021.
