Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Unit have charged a driver after responding to a collision in Cambridge.

On April 4, 2022, at approximately 9:05 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision in the area of Hespeler Road and Dunbar Road in Cambridge.

A Dodge Caravan, driven by an 18-year-old Cambridge male, travelled south on Hespeler Road when the driver turned left onto Dunbar Road. The Caravan crossed directly into the path of a Volkswagen Passat, driven by a 20-year-old Cambridge female, which was travelling on Hespeler Road.

The resulting collision damaged both vehicles significantly, and the driver of the Passat was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Area roads were closed for several hours for the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, the driver of the Caravan was charged with Turn Not in Safety.
