Cambridge youth charged in knife incident at Kitchener mall

A Cambridge youth is facing multiple charges following disturbance reports involving individuals with knives at Fairview Mall in Kitchener on Friday afternoon. 

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of this incident, Waterloo regional police said in a news release.

As a result of the investigation, three youths have been arrested. 

A Cambridge youth was charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon (two counts)
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Assault
  • Disobey court order
  • Carrying concealed weapon

A Waterloo youth was charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

A 19-year-old Kitchener male was charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon (two counts)
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (two counts)
  • Carrying concealed weapon (two counts)
  • Possession of suspected fentanyl

The investigation is ongoing.
