Careless driving charge following Cambridge collision

Waterloo Regional Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision in Cambridge.

On Jan. 8, 2022, at approximately 8 a.m., officers responded to the area of Main Street and Nottinghill Drive in Cambridge for a collision.

The vehicle was travelling south on Main Street when it left the roadway and entered the ditch, striking two hydro poles.

The driver, a 17-year-old male, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services.

Hydro crews attended the scene to repair and replace the poles.

As a result of the investigation, the driver has been charged with careless driving.
