Driver, 81, faces traffic charge

An 81-year-old female driver has been charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian following a collision that happened July 11 in Cambridge, according to a news release from Waterloo Regional Police.

At approximately 4:10 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle in the area of King Street East and Bishop Street North.

The driver was not hurt, but was charged with failing to yield to pedestrian, the release said. The 75-year-old female pedestrian was transported to hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services with minor injuries. 

The investigation is ongoing.
