Driver charged after pedestrian struck in Cambridge

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries

WRPS’ Traffic Services Unit Responded to a collision in Cambridge involving a pedestrian.

On January 6, 2024 at approximately 7:40 p.m., emergency services responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision in the area of Alexander Avenue and Main Street.

A Volkswagen motor vehicle, driven by a 42-year old male, was attempting a left hand turn onto Alexander Avenue when he hit a pedestrian attempting to cross Alexander Avenue.

The pedestrian, a 24-year-old male was transported to local hospital with non-life-threatening physical injuries. It was determined speed was not a factor. The driver was charged accordingly under the Highway Traffic Act.
