Driver sent to hospital after collision on Franklin Boulevard

A collision on Robson Road at Franklin Boulevard on Friday night sent on driver to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At around 7:45 p.m. June 17, emergency services responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a BMW and a Volvo.  

Police said a black BMW was travelling west on Robson Road, facing a red light when the driver allegedly stopped and then proceeded through the intersection where a white Volvo travelling south on Franklin Boulevard struck the side of the BMW head-on.

The collision resulted in both vehicles leaving the roadway.

The driver of the BMW, an 81-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The three occupants of the Volvo did not sustain any physical injuries.

Police charged the driver of the BMW with careless driving.
