Driver taken to hospital after colliding with transport truck

Police say the pickup truck driver was transported by air to a hospital after striking a transport truck in Cambridge

Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Unit are investigating a collision that occurred at the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Clyde Road in Cambridge. 

On July 12, 2022, at approximately 3:30 p.m., emergency services responded to a collision involving a truck and a commercial pickup truck. 

The transport truck was travelling north on Franklin Boulevard when the truck was struck from behind by the pickup truck's driver. 

As a result of the collision, the pickup truck driver was transported by air to an out-of-region hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending. 

Area roads are expected to remain closed until approximately 8 p.m.
