Dump truck collides with high voltage concrete pole

Waterloo Regional Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision in Cambridge.

On Nov. 30, 2021, at approximately 8:05 a.m., officers responded to the area of Cherry Blossom Road and Boxwood Drive for a collision involving a dump truck.

The dump truck was travelling east on Cherry Blossom Road when the driver attempted to turn north onto Boxwood Drive. The driver lost control and struck a high voltage concrete pole, causing damage to the pole.

There were no physical injuries reported as a result of the collision.

Hydro crews attended the scene to replace the pole. Power was disconnected while crews repaired the pole. 

The investigation remains ongoing, and charges are pending.
