Knife-wielding suspect sought in Cambridge

Man allegedly threatened the victim with a knife after trying to open the door handle of their vehicle, police say

The Waterloo Regional Police are looking for a male suspect who allegedly brandished a knife in the area of Swift Crescent in Cambridge today around 1:50 a.m.

Police say a homeowner heard a noise outside their home. When they went to check, they saw a man tugging on the door handle of their vehicle. 

The victim tried to confront the suspect, who brandished a knife and threatened the victim. The suspect then fled the area. 

There were no injuries as a result of this incident, police say. 

The Waterloo Regional Police were later notified by two other individuals that a suspicious man in the area approached their properties. 

Police say the suspect was wearing dark clothes and described him as 25-28 years old, 5'10" tall and weighing around 170 pounds.
