Male, female charged in stabbing incident in Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police now say they have charged two people in connection with Sunday's stabbing incident in Cambridge. 

Police responded at around 4 p.m. to reports of a stabbing at a residence in the area of Veterans Way. 

Upon arrival, emergency services located a female with injuries from a stab wound. 

The victim, a 54-year-old Cambridge resident, was transported to an out-of-region hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrested two individuals in connection with the stabbing a short time later.

Police said today they have jointly charged a 43-year-old female from North Dumfries Township and a 32-year-old Cambridge male with aggravated assault.

The names of the accused were not released.

The female was also charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failure to comply with a release order, police said in a news release.

The accused parties were held in police custody for a bail hearing, police said.
