Man charged with assault, attempted murder in Cambridge

50-year-old female victim was transported to an out-of-region hospital; the victim and the accused know each other, police say

A 49-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon and attempted murder after police found an injured 50-year-old woman in Cambridge. 

On March 26, around 3:30 a.m, police say they responded to a disturbance report in residence in the Saginaw Parkway area.

Upon arrival, they located the 50-year-old female victim with injuries, who was transported to an out-of-region hospital.

The Waterloo Regional Police did not specify the severity of her injuries.

The victim and the accused know each other, police say. 

The investigation is ongoing.
