Pedestrian suffers serious injuries after being struck

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a collision involving a pedestrian in Kitchener.

On June 18, 2022, at approximately 1:15 a.m., emergency services responded to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian in the area of Victoria Street North and Lancaster Street West.

A pedestrian was crossing Victoria Street North when she was struck by a black Toyota.

The pedestrian, a 26-year-old woman, was transported to an out-of-region hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services with serious injuries.

The driver of the Toyota, a 61-year-old Cambridge man, did not sustain any physical injuries as a result of the collision.

The intersection of Victoria Street North and Lancaster Street West was closed for several hours for the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
