Waterloo Regional Police say the have arrested a young male from Cambridge on child pornography charges.
In November 2023, the police service’s Cybercrime and Internet Child Exploitation Unit, commenced an investigation into the alleged possession of child pornography by a Cambridge resident.
As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at a Preston area home today where an 18-year-old-male was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography, police said in a news release.
The male was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service noted it is a member of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet supported by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
