A 38-year-old Cambridge man is facing charges of speeding and failing to equip his vehicle with a working speed-limiting system after Wellington OPP made a traffic stop May 5.

Police said they were monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7 in Guelph/Eramosa Township at approximately 7 a.m. when a semi-truck and trailer was seen travelling well above the posted 70km/hr speed limit.

As a result of the investigation, the driver was charged with both offenses. Commercial vehicle drivers must have a working speed limiter installed according to the Highway Traffic Act.
