Police investigating allegedly stolen vehicle that fled traffic stop

Police say that, after the vehicle fled, it stuck Cambridge City Hall and the driver then fled the area on foot

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate after a stolen vehicle failed to stop for a traffic stop in Cambridge. 

On July 15, 2021, at approximately 4 a.m., members of Waterloo Regional Police Service's South Division Neighbourhood Patrol attempted a traffic stop on a 2006 grey Pontiac G6 in the area of Cambridge Street and Ainslie Street in Cambridge. 

The driver of the vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed. Shortly after, the vehicle struck the building of Cambridge City Hall located at 50 Dickson Street in Cambridge. The driver then fled the area on foot. 

The investigation is ongoing.
