Police have charged a male with careless driving and failing to remain at the scene in connection with a hit-and-run collision involving a cyclist last Wednesday.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. in the area of McMeeken Drive in Cambridge.

The driver of a motor vehicle struck a cyclist after a dispute and fled the area, say police. The cyclist was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The collision was witnessed by several individuals who reported the incident to police.

As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old male has been charged.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service would like to thank the community for their assistance and the off-duty nurse who attended to the injured cyclist.
