Police respond to major four-vehicle collision in Woolwich Township

Crash involved a Dodge Caravan, a Ram 1500 truck, and two transport trucks

WRPS Traffic Services Unit officers are investigating a four-vehicle collision in Woolwich Township.

On Sept. 19 at approximately 1:30 p.m., emergency services responded to the incident on Arthur Street South near Sawmill Road. 

The collision involved two passenger vehicles, a Dodge Caravan and a Ram 1500 truck, and two transport trucks.

The driver of the Dodge, an 85-year-old male from Drayton, was transported by air ambulance to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ram, a 41-year-old female, and the passenger in the Ram, a 75-year-old female, both from Hanover, were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The drivers of the transport trucks, a 22-year-old Fergus male and a 51-year-old male from Wingham, did not sustain physical injuries.

At this time, the intersection remains closed for the cleanup of a large fuel spill. 

The investigation is ongoing.
