Two charged in drug bust in Cambridge

The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Direct Action Response Team (DART) has charged two Cambridge residents in connection with a drug trafficking investigation, according to police. 

Police say officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Langs Drive and Concession Road earlier today.

Officers seized suspected crack cocaine and Canadian currency, the WRPS said in a news release. 

A 50-year-old male and a 52-year-old female, both from Cambridge, were arrested and jointly charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. 

The male is facing two additional charges of breach of release order and had four outstanding warrants with the Waterloo Regional Police Service, according to the release.

The female is also facing two additional charges of breach of release order, police said.

The two were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
