Two men charged after Cambridge convenience store robbery

A third suspect remains outstanding and a warrant has been issued for his arrest

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two men after a Sunday armed robbery in Cambridge.

On Dec. 17, at approximately 6:55 p.m., police responded to reports of an armed robbery at a convenience store in the area of Elgin Street North and Dundas Street North. 

Two male suspects entered the store, brandishing a knife, and stole cash and merchandise. The two males then exited the store and were joined by a third male waiting in the parking lot.

Officers located two of the suspects in the area of Hilltop Drive and Alison Avenue and placed them under arrest. Police also seized a knife.

The two males, a 22-year-old and a 31-year-old, both from Cambridge, have been charged with robbery with a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime. The 22-year-old is facing two additional charges of breach of a release order.

The third suspect remains outstanding, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

There were no physical injuries as a result of this incident.

The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ robbery team.
