Wanted man arrested in Cambridge, faces additional charges

Brampton man failed to stop when directed, attempted to flee after vehicle found driving near Ballantyne Avenue and East Street, police say

Waterloo Regional Police say officers from the Neighbourhood Policing South Division arrested a wanted man in Cambridge on Saturday morning.

At around 11:20 a.m., police located a man wanted on outstanding charges driving in the area of Ballantyne Avenue and East Street. 

The outstanding charges included: criminal harassment, fail to comply with release order (five counts), assault, forcible entry, and mischief under $5,000.

The man failed to stop when directed by police and attempted to flee the area in his vehicle, police said in a news release.

Police were able to stop the vehicle and arrest the driver without incident a short time later.

A 30-year-old from Brampton was charged with offences in addition to the previous charges, including:

  • Criminal harassment
  • Fail to comply with release order (two counts)
  • Flight from police

Police said he was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
