Wellington OPP nab two impaired drivers from Cambridge

The Canada Day long weekend inspired two Cambridge drivers to allegedly get behind the wheel after having one too many drinks. On July 1 at approximately 9:30 p.m.

The Canada Day long weekend inspired two Cambridge drivers to allegedly get behind the wheel after having one too many drinks.

On July 1 at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers with the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to a report of a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on Wellington Road 124 west of Guelph. 

Officers located the vehicle and as a result of the investigation they charged a 25-years-old Cambridge woman with operating while impaired - 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100 mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code.

Then on July 2, at approximately 11:30 p.m., an officer with the Wellington County OPP located a vehicle that was partially in the ditch on Concession 1, south of Guelph. 

As a result of the investigation, police charged a 57-year-old Cambridge man with operation while impaired - 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100 mL of blood), contrary to the Criminal Code. 

Both accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice-Guelph at a later date.
