The Old Post Office Idea Exchange is one of 25 heritage buildings the City of Cambridge owns.

The Waterloo Regional Heritage Foundation is now accepting applications for its Board of Directors.

The non-profit assists in the preservation of the heritage and culture of Waterloo Region by providing grants for heritage based projects and giving input on various issues in the community.

Currently, the foundation is completing its strategic review aimed at how the historic environment is progressing in the community and analyzing how it aligns with regional council’s strategic priorities in regards to climate action, reconciliation, and equity, diversity and inclusion.

Through this process, the review helps ensure grant funding is robust, transparent, equitable, purposeful and meets the needs of the community.

As of the foundations annual meeting in June, three board of director positions need to be filled for a three-year term.

Deadline to submit applications is May 31 at 4:30 p.m., with the election taking place at the meeting on June 7 at 5:30 p.m.
