SEPTEMBER 29, 1947 – MARCH 10, 2022
Doug passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the age of 74 years. Dearly loved husband of Joan and cherished father of Katherine (Chris) Bertoni and Michael (Tara) Domonchuk. Precious memories are left with his grandchildren; Nicolas, Lucas, Anissa and great grandson Theo. Loving brother to Susan (Bob) Hill and Karen (David ) Lamarche. Doug will be fondly remembered by his nieces Lori, Lesley and Paige and nephews Matthew and Phillip.
Predeceased by his parents George and Anita, Doug will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Doug was retired from Babcock Wilcox after 40 plus years of service, he enjoyed spending time with his family and was the go to family historian when any family tree questions came up. He loved playing baseball in leagues and cheering on the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Domonchuk Family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Monday, March 14th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be at 3:45 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Clement's Parish, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge on Tuesday at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the CNIB or the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association are greatly appreciated.
