OCTOBER 13, 1937 – APRIL 8, 2024

Abram Friesen, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Monday April 8 2024 at the age of 86.

Left behind to mourn are his wife of 63 years, Sara Friesen, children Abe Friesen (Margaret), Maria Wiebe (Frank), Agatha Ruby (Eric), Sara Ropp (Dale), George Friesen, Jake Friesen and Betty House (Harvey). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Jamie (Mary), Selena (Marcus), Matthew, Timothy, Veronica (Kyle), Vanessa, Victoria, Nicole (Ryan), Michael, Ashley, Thomas, Lillian, Isaiah, Elijah and Ella-Rose. He will also be remembered with love by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Abram was the youngest, and only son, of the late Abram and Maria (Krahn) Friesen and the last surviving member of a family of 8. He was predeceased by his daughter Tina, son Neil, and grandson Jeffrey Wiebe.

Abram was born close to Cuauhtemoc Chihuahua, where he met his bride Sara, marrying her March 12, 1961, and supporting his growing family working at Estrella Blanca. In 1989, he, along with his family, immigrated to Canada, eventually settling in Cambridge Ontario. He continued to utilize his skills as a welder for Guelph based Precision Industries. In his later years, his greatest joy was his grandkids, he adored and was immensely proud of each one.

His last days he could often be found seeking comfort in prayer. He loved his Lord and Savior and we rejoice that he is in His presence now.

Visitation will be held at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St Andrews St., Cambridge on Monday, April 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge.
