Survived by his beloved wife of over 48 years, Jane (Campbell) Gage; children Matt (Christie), Meredith (Chris), Sarah (Gord), Laura (Jason), Ted (Courtney); and grandchildren, Nathan, Declan, Madeline, Atley, Jack, Kylin, Ryker, Sam and Claudia.
Predeceased by his parents, Harvey Crosthwaite Gage and Grace Marion Dell, his sister Kathryn (Gage) Clayton and his son Mark.
A beloved and loving husband, father, and grandfather, John took immense pride in providing for his family. In retirement, he unselfishly lent a helping hand to others whenever he could and took pleasure in taking great care of his home and gardens. He enjoyed staying active and busy, constantly meeting new people and engaging with his community. Known for his curiosity and outgoing nature, he would strike up a conversation with anyone. He was a kind-hearted and giving man who embraced life, cherished his loved ones, and found purpose in helping others. His one-of-a-kind personality has ensured he will not be forgotten by those he came into contact with. John will be lovingly and always remembered by all of his friends and family.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life and Reception at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St Andrews Street, Cambridge, ON.
