In loving memory of Cosimo Gutta, who passed away on May 23, 2021.

Born in 1939 in southern Italy, Cosimo apprenticed as a barber at the age of 13 before coming to Canada in 1956, working in Toronto, Newmarket, Burlington, and New York City before returning to Italy in 1969 to marry his love, Angela. Together, they settled in Cambridge, Ontario and raised two children. Cosimo enjoyed a long career until his retirement in 2016.

Cosimo will be greatly missed by his wife of 52 years, Angela, his children Rosemary (Mario) and Anthony, his siblings Carmela (Vincenzo), Domenico (Rosetta), and Frank. Cosimo was a cherished brother-in-law to Tita, Giuseppina (Francesco), Cosimo (Silvana), Giuseppe (Maria), and was a beloved uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. In Heaven, he is reunited with his parents Rocco and Rosa, siblings Giuseppe (Maria), Maria (Luigi), Angelina (Giuseppe), Vincenzo, and dear family members and friends.

A special thank you to the staff at Riverbend Place in Cambridge for their wonderful care and compassion during Cosimo’s final years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario, or to a charity of choice.

Visitations will take place at T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main Street in Cambridge, Ontario on Thursday, May 27th from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm. In accordance with the regulations of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario due to COVID-19, all events are restricted to a specified number of attendees. Please RSVP in advance by signing up online for a 15-minute time block during which they may attend the visitation on the funeral home website by using the link under "Donations" below this obituary or by phoning 519-623-1290. All visitors are asked to remain in their vehicles until their allotted time. Visitors are also required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing. Please obey instructions of the funeral home staff.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated privately by family at T. Little Funeral Home on Friday, May 28, 2021. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 620 Governor’s Road East in Paris, Ontario.
