FEBRUARY 20, 1942 – MARCH 21, 2024
We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved father, Murray Owen on March 21, 2024, at the age of 82.
Dad was a kind, generous man who loved his family, his friends and his potato chips.
Dad was a very social guy who made friends with everyone he met. He could often be found on the front porch chatting with the neighbours, at the curling club playing lead in the social leagues, or most often at a bowling alley. Dad loved coaching kids in the youth bowling league more than he loved playing the game itself.
Dad leaves behind his two daughters, Shelley Owen and Nicole Mortson (Peter), his three grandchildren, Brayden Mortson, Ashley Mortson and Jacquelyn Huntley, his sister Phyllis Gould and many nieces, nephews, cousins and their extended families. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Gord and Dorothy Owen, and his brother Vern Owen.
Visitors are welcome to join us at Coutts Funeral Home on Monday March 25 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and for the funeral on Tuesday March 26 at 11am.
We would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Stirling Heights Long Term Care, for taking such good care of our dad this past year.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Red Cross in dad’s memory would be appreciated.
