JULY 3, 1935 – NOVEMBER 17, 2023

In the autumn of his 89th year, and in the care of those he loved most in this world, our beloved Dad took his last breath and entered into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Dad was born in Twillingate, Newfoundland, on July 3, 1935, the eldest child of Lloyd and Susannah Roberts (nee Anstey).

He is survived by his beautiful wife of 62 years, Vida (nee Hallett), and children David (Amanda), and Heather; grandchildren Madison (Tyler), Presley (Jeff), Brooklyn (Gillom) and Noah, and his little great-granddaughter Eloise Austin Kading. Dad is also survived by his brother Bob (Susan), and nephews Bill King, and Rob and Steven Roberts. He was predeceased by his parents, his baby daughter Catherine (1964), and his sister Rose Marie King (1966). Fondly remembered by his former son-in-law Joe Pinheiro and daughter Emily Pinheiro.

We would like to thank the incredible staff at Fairview Mennonite Home (Galt Wing) for their exceptional care of our father; as well as Peggy Snow, whose gift of friendship to our Mom over this past year, has been such a blessing.

A Celebration of Dad's Life will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel, 12 Shade Street, Cambridge, Ontario, on Thursday November 23, 2023, with visitation from 11:00am to 12:45pm, followed by the service at 1:00pm. Major Harvey Pilgrim officiating. Reception to follow. Dad will be laid to rest beside our sister Cathy, at the North Side United Cemetery, Twillingate, Newfoundland, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Fairview Mennonite Home, in memory of Harold Austin Roberts.

~ ECCLESIASTES 3 ~

To everything there is a season

And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to be born

And a time to die

... a time to weep

and a time to laugh

A time to mourn

And a time to dance

Dad, Poppie - thank you for everything, for all the seasons of your life that we were able to share with you. Your strength of character, your kindness and your humility, the way you lived your Christian life, and your overwhelming love for your wife, children and grandchildren are your lasting legacy.

We had the very best of all of it.

PROMOTED TO GLORY!
