JUNE 27, 1925 – JANUARY 7, 2022

Joyce Emily Mills Spring, BA (June 27, 1925 - January 7, 2022) died peacefully in her beloved home surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Joyce is survived by her children Chris (Louise) Spring, Sandra (Gary) Price and Valerie (Allan) Norris as well as her grandchildren Julian (Grace), Jennifer (Steve), Alison (Eben), Rosemary, Willis and Lily and great grandchildren Griffin, Leighton and Mallory and sisters in law Jean Maich and Colleen Mills. Joyce was predeceased by husband Willis, eldest son Jeffrey and grandchildren Wesley, Maryann and Amanda Price. Joyce is also predeceased by her parents Alice and Herbert, brothers Ray and Don Mills and sister-in-law Jean.

Joyce would be the first one to tell you she had the best life even though she lived through the Great Depression, Second World War and a horrific plane crash that took the life of her cherished husband. Joyce would also tell you her greatest accomplishment was raising four reasonably well adjusted kids and being a grandma to nine amazing grandchildren. But Joyce was much more than a mom and grandma, she was a pilot, university graduate, author of three books about women in aviation, and avid coffee drinker. The family would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to the staff at LHIN and Comfort Keepers who made it possible to bring Joy home.

Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday, January 16th, 2022 at T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Cambridge (519-623-1290) from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Guests wishing to attend must show proof of full vaccination and government issued photo ID. Space will be limited and guests will need to sign up to attend by visiting https://signup.com/go/LmoRiuu. A private family service will be held the following day on Monday, January 17th, 2022 and all are welcome to join a livestream of Joyce's service at 1 pm via the link on the funeral home website. Interment to follow at Mount View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks people to consider donating to the Trinity Community Table or the Cambridge Firefighters Christmas Basket Fund. In Joy’s honour, the family encourages you to savour a cup of coffee with a loved one.
