Waterloo Regional Police say they have laid charges in connection with a firearms incident in Cambridge.
On Oct. 8 at around 5 p.m., police responded to reports of two groups arguing in a parking lot at the Cambridge Centre on Hespeler Road. One of the involved individuals was seen pointing a firearm, police say.
Police said the firearm was not discharged, and there were no reported physical injuries in the incident.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, on Oct. 10 at approximately 2:20 a.m., police arrested and charged a 20-year-old Cambridge male with the following offences:
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Point firearm
- Breach of probation order
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
