AUGUST 8, 1958 – JANUARY 11, 2023
Hilda Elaine Schnell, our beautiful sweetheart and friend passed peacefully into the presence of our Lord Jesus January 11, 2023 at the age of 64.
Hilda was surrounded by family and friends, and spent her last minutes on this earth giving her love and attention to her husband Harold, son Daniel, and mother Elaine. As Hilda’s husband, I thank you, God, for many years of joy with Hilda, and for blessing me with this beautiful, loving, caring treasure. We will be with you in Heaven someday soon. What a happy prospect all who believe in Jesus. No more pain, suffering, tears, only joy, beauty and being in God’s presence.
Hilda, more than anyone I’ve met, truly demonstrated what Jesus said were the 2 greatest commandments. To love God with all your heart, and to love others as you love yourself. Hilda’s capacity to love and care for others was her greatest attribute, and we all learned so much from her.
Precious family and friends, if we believe in Jesus, choose to make Him our Saviour, and accept Him as God’s Son who died for our sins on the cross, we will have HOPE in this life. We will be with our loved ones who belong to Jesus in Heaven for eternity. Be ready for eternity, you never know how much time you have left. Hilda leaves behind her devoted, loving and adoring husband Harold, precious, loving son Daniel, beautiful mother Elaine Harris, brother Paul Harris (and Janice), many wonderful relatives who are often in her thoughts and hundreds of friends she still loves deeply. Hilda has a heart of worship for Jesus, is a beautiful nurturer and lover of people, gifted singer, avid reader, talented writer and editor, and enjoyer of nature walks, birds, animals and flowers.
Hilda’s “Celebration of Life” service will be held at Faith Church, 3849 King Street East, Kitchener, ON N2P 2E8 (519) 893-2720, www.faithchurch.ca on Saturday, January 21 at 1:00 pm. There will be visitation at church with a closed casket from 12-12:45, just before the service. Light refreshments are planned after the service. A livestream of the Hilda’s Celebration of Life is being planned. There will also be opportunity for visitation at Barthel Funeral Home 566 Queenston Rd, Cambridge, ON N3H 3J8 on Friday, January 20, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Everyone of you are welcome to attend for the service and visitation.
